Hi, I’m Robin Chae, and Tried & Took is exactly what the name says: a place where I write about the vitamins and supplements I’ve actually tried and taken myself, and what happened when I did.
This site started with a scare. One day I saw blood after a bowel movement, and it frightened me enough to book a doctor’s appointment instead of spiraling on Google. My doctor looked into it, told me the likely cause in my case was minor, and recommended I start taking Metamucil. I did, and the symptom stopped within a day. I was so surprised something that simple worked that I wanted to write about it honestly, the fear, the doctor visit, and the result, for the next person searching at midnight the way I was.
That’s the whole idea here. I’m not a doctor, and I’ll never pretend to be. What I offer instead is the one thing the big medical sites can’t: real, firsthand experience. When I review a supplement or compare brands in a category, it’s because I’ve used them and I’m telling you what actually happened, the good and the disappointing.
Three things I promise you:
See a doctor first. Every story on this site points you toward professional care, because that’s what I did and it’s what kept me safe. I share experiences, not diagnoses.
Only real experience. I won’t write about something I haven’t genuinely tried. My honest, lived opinion is the entire point of this site, and I won’t dilute it with generic filler.
Thanks for being here. If my experience helps even one nervous person make a smarter, calmer decision about their health, this site has done its job.
